One day while Heather and I were out on our daily noon walk we
saw that a house had been lifted up from its foundation and was
hovering in the air. We're not sure what is going on, but we
suspect that they are going to make a new foundation for the
home. Here are a couple of pictures of the floating house. The first two pictures are from the first day. Picture 517 was taken June 24th. You can see that there is now a foundation in the ground under the house. Picture 520 was taken July 1st and the house has been lowered onto the new foundation. Several months later they tore the roof off of the house and gutted most of it leaving only the outside walls. We heard that they only wanted to preserve the outside walls and will build a completely new house inside. It is a historical home and the law requires that it can't be razed. This is an expensive way to build a new home on that lot. |
