Deep Sea Fishing Trip (00a-23)
Stanford's 10th birthday party in the backyard (24)
On Wednesday, 5 August 1998, a group of Young Men, Leaders, Dads, and one lovely Young Woman, went deep sea fishing. The trip started very early... too early, at 5:30 am with everyone meeting at the church. From there we all drove to Hampton, NH. The maps were pretty good, but Steve Marshall still got lost. Since he was the lead vehicle, the rest of us followed him. No problem, though, because we arrived in plenty of time. The ship left at 8:00 am and after a 45 minute trip, hooks were baited and put in the water for the long decent to the ocean floor, 90 feet down. As the pictures below show, several of our group were lucky and actually caught fish! There really isn't any skill involved. Most people didn't even know they had caught something, but just reeled in their hooks to check if they still had bait, and low and behold... A FISH! The ship returned to the dock at noon, and we all returned home.
After the fishing trip, we all returned home. The last picture here shows the aftermath of a terrible accident which occurred on the return trip. Miraculously, no one was seriously injured. Angels were watching over them. Peter enters the mission home on August 25th and will be serving in the Salt Lake City, Utah mission. How grateful we all are that the Lord was watching over these four young men.
