Dear Roberta and Family,
I
was not able to attend Merlin's viewing or funeral but wanted to say
how many fond memories I have of him and your whole family. I was able
to reap the joy of Merlin's many talents which included swinging from
trees, playing in your treehouse, walking (or trying to) on stilts,
playing in the ditch and who could forget the rickshaw!! I think of all
of you often and feel blessed to have grown up in your backyard. Thanks
for all the memories! May God bless and sustain you during the days
ahead.
With Love, Karen (Ahlberg) Roberson "Taffy"

Dear Aunt Bertie, I
love you and Uncle Merlin and you both always made me feel loved even
though we didn't spend alot of time together. Uncle merlin always had a
hug and a smile for me and I will never forget it. Again I love you
both and also my cousins altough I don't see them as much as I wish. I
wish you all the love and comfort that the Lord has to offer. Love Debbie

Roberta, We
are so sorry for your loss. Merlin was a hero to me. If anyone was an
example of a Christ like life, it was him. You are the perfect couple.
Your relationship with Merlin was an inspiration. We are currently in
Chisenau, Moldova, and will not be home until late Tuesday night. We
send our love and our prayers to you and your family.

George Krebs called us moments ago to tell us of Merlin's death. We are
hopeful that the love we feel, for your family, will be conveyed in
this message. We learned so much from your family and appreciate all the kindnesses you extended to our young family. I
was forever influenced by Merlin's unwavering integrity. I can recall
many instances where I watched, with amazement, as he taught lessons of
honesty so very discreetly. We are thankful to know every member of your family and send our love, to you, during this time of reflection.
