On March 24, 2008 our 50 year old natural gas forced hot air furnace was replaced with a new high efficiency furnace and central air conditioning. The old furnace had the convenient capability of continuing to work even when the AC power was out. This new furnace requires AC to run. Knowing that power outages happen from time to time it seemed wise and important to provide a source of emergency power. This is the generator purchased from Lowes for $699. The next step is to purchase and install a manual transfer switch and an outside power inlet. |
