Joyce and I attended the annual Compassionate Friends BBQ and
butterfly release today. This event is to remember and honor the
lives of children who have died. We, of course, went in honor and
memory of our son Stanford who died of cancer Jan 23, 2007. During
the event they also uncovered the brick walkway. Last year we had a brick made in Stanford's memory, but we were unable to attend because we were in Martha's Vineyard celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We found the brick this year. Joyce is marking it with her left foot in picture 9734. The brick shows up in better detail in picture 9729. Picture 9728 is the brick for Jason Pavone, son of Sister Pavone-Smith of the Merrimack Ward. It was fun releasing the butterfly. As can be seen, there were lots of people releasing them. Many flew up and landed in the large pine tree. Several others landed on flowers in the garden. |
