Heather and John work at the same place in Concord, MA, and take a
walk at lunch time every day. The leaves are very beautiful this year.
It is very difficult to capture this in a picture. The last three
pictures on this page do a pretty good job of showing the contrast
between the blue sky and the orange leaves, but it still falls
short. There is a railroad crossing that we go over on our walk. It has warning signs posted about low ground clearance warning trucks with trailers that getting stuck is a possibility. In the 9 years I have worked here I have never seen it happen until this week. This truck got stuck right on the rails and was blocking both lanes. It is a commuter rail so the possibility of a train was real. Fortunately there are long sight lines for the train so it could probably slow down in time. However, it looks like they got the truck moved before a train came. They had to remove the cars from the trailer to lighten the load enough to be able to back the truck off the tracks. |
