The "give away furniture" actually wasn't given away! I used these
pictures on Facebook in the "Nashua Members" group seeking takers.
That's how I was able to find a home for the old desk. Our original
thinking on the "corner cupboard" and the octagon table was that there
wasn't room anymore for them. Someone expressed interest in the table,
but never followed through with it. Adam thinks it is an awesome table
and would love to have it if he had room for it. I also figured out
that it could stay right where it had always been. So, I removed the
offer from Facebook and have just not said anything about it. The
"corner cupboard" has a long history. It was in our first home at
5096 Obsidian Way in Kearns, Utah. It was removed from the kitchen
when we bought and installed a dishwasher. Rather than throw it away
I had a counter top made for it. We kept it in the corner of the
dining room in Kearns, hence the name "corner cupboard". It came with
us to Nashua and for 30 years it has been known as the "corner cupboard"
even though it wasn't in a corner! The corner cupboard had to go because
the wall unit from the living room moved into its place in the basement
to make room for the new media cabinet and HDTV. I really didn't want
to get rid of the corner cupboard because of its history. I searched
around in the basement looking for a place where it could go. I finally
realized that it could go in the corner by my workbench and have the
toolbox on it and that's what we did. It looks good there. |
