Day 39: Another interesting day. The crew arrived about 7:45 to finish setting up
the forms for the footings. They were ready when the concrete pumper
truck arrived. It took a little while to figure out how to clear all the
wires, but finally the nozzle was ready for use and the concrete started
to flow. Unfortunately they ran out of concrete and weren't able to
finish the footing for the lolly columns that will support the addition
floor. The plan is to fill that footing up when they pour the walls.
(Note: It was actually done on on June 7th.) I made separate videos for the North Camera and the South Camera. They are the top two videos on this page. I inserted some sped up real time video in each to provide some up close scenes. At the end of this page are the real time videos that I took during the day. Some of the files are very large. Don from T-K Danis suggested that I take some time and scrub down the foundation wall of the existing house that will be in the crawl space. He showed me how the surface of the foundation has chalky concrete dust. Also where the foundation was excavated the wall is filthy with dirt. I took his advice and started scrubbing the wall with a stiff brush. Then I shook my head and asked myself, "What in the heck are you doing? You have a power washer!" I got the power washer hooked up and spent an hour going over all the wall that will be in the crawl space. Thanks for the tip Don! |
