Day 261: On Jan 14th of the home improvement project the basement
phase began. Rich, Kevin, and Phil returned and did the demolition
of the basement bedroom. Rich verified that the replacement
windows he ordered for the basement will work. That will make
the room so much warmer. While the demolition was going on I built a shelf to hold all the IT stuff that has lived on top of the wardrobe for years. It all fits nicely and is more accessible now. After that I used a jack to lift the wardrobe and put it on casters so it can be rolled around out of the way as construction begins. I finished moving stuff out of the basement just as Phil was finishing removing the last of the old carpets. Just in time. The basement has never been this empty before. I took three panoramic shots of the basement showing its current state. Framing begins tomorrow. |
