Today on my post construction to do list was reconnecting the media
center in the basement. It's a mix of retro, old, and newer. In 1975 (50 years ago now) I bought and assembled a Heathkit audio amplifier and speakers. Fifty years later they still work. Connected to that is an older flat panel TV with RCA jacks for audio output. The DVD player is old and doesn't have HDMI, only RCA jacks. It's connected to the TV. The Roku has HDMI, but it's now so old that it has finally become obsolete and doesn't stream anything. I'll have to replace that. The only way to adjust the speaker volume is to walk over to the amplifier and turn the analog knob. That's retro! To prove that everything was working I watched the pilot episode of "Young Sheldon" on DVD. That's just about my favorite TV show. They did such a great job of casting characters. The script writers did such a great job. Every episode makes me laugh... a lot! |
